Hi! I am Pat Laib. I graduated from the Colorado School of Trades with a degree in Gunsmithing in 1972. After school, I moved to Spicer, Minnesota. I began working at Mel's Sports Shop. I developed my gunsmithing skills with general repairs, bluing, woodwork, and retail sales. In 1980, taking a chance, I started Laib's Gunsmithing. I have spent over 50 years offering repairs for many firearms. I specialize in custom repairs for competition shotguns, mainly Remington 3200s, along with Perazzi, Kreighoff, Beretta, and Browning.
I was introduced to competitive trap shooting in 1975. I spent much of my free time enjoying this sport. I was inducted into the Minnesota Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1999. I am a lifetime member of the ATA_NRA and continue to shoot trap in a local league.
Hi! I am Joe Schipnewski. I went to high school about 30 minutes west of Spicer. I was involved with a job shadow event with Laib's Gunsmithing in high school and fell in love with repairing guns. I enrolled in Pine Technical & Community College for gunsmithing in 2015. I worked part time and summers for Laib's while going to college. After graduation in 2018, I began working full time for Laib's. When I am not at work, I enjoy Minnesota and all its nature. I spend time hunting for deer, ducks and pheasant in the fall, Ice fishing keeps me busy through out the winter. In the spring, I enjoy coaching the local high school trapshooting team. Summer days are spent shooting trap with Pat and Gunnar.
Hi! My name is Gunnar Gens. With a name like mine, not surprising to hear that I have always had a passion for firearms and shooting sports. I grew up in southern Minnesota. I have been around guns all of my life. I started competitive trap shooting at the age of 9. My first real taste of gunsmithing was with Pat's Gun Repair in Wells, MN. I started my training cleaning parts and doing prep work. After high school, I went to St. Cloud Technical College, graduating with my A.A.S. in CNC and Advanced Machining in 2019. I worked in a machine shop for about 5 years before working at Laib's Gunsmithing. I started part-time in 2021 and began full-time in 2022. Pat Laib has shared his knowledge and helped me become what I am today in the gunsmithing world. I love what I do and find joy in learning something new each day.
Hi! I am Josh Thrush. I have been part of the Laib's Gunsmithing since 2012. I enjoy engaging with our customers and offering an enjoyable experience. I enjoy spending my spare time with my family and friends out in nature, camping, and watching the wildlife in our area.
Hi! I am Paula Unruh. I am new to the Laib's Gunsmithing family. I am in the office manager/bookkeeper position. I am having such fun coming to work and being with this great group of guys. Hi! I am Pierce. I enjoy playing with toys, and putting smiles of peoples face. Everyone can tell how happy I am by the sound of my tail thumping the desk. I also enjoy naps in the warm sun. During the fall I love to go hunting with Joe.
